Whether you are celebrating with your galentines, your family or the love of your life, we hope your Valentines Day is filled with love and the things that bring you joy! We also would like to send a special birthday wish to our amazing intern Libby who turned 21 today! Cheers to you Lobster!!
Now that you have your Thanksgiving menu planned, it’s time to think about styling your table! Whether you want to go all out with decor and dishware or add simple, thoughtful touches, the table design can make the holiday even more memorable for you and your guests. Here are a few of the tablescapes that are inspiring us at the moment.

Add Natural Touches – Gourds, Herbs, Leaves and Autumnal Blooms make for gorgeous Thanksgiving Centerpieces…plus they are easy to forage in your own backyard!

Mix in Metallics – we love the combination of copper with greenery! This style looks great year round, but adding autumnal accents like the warm plaid table runner and gourds makes the look perfect for Thanksgiving.

Incorporate pattern! Beautifully patterned linens are a great way to add color and texture to your table. For Thanksgiving, we recommend gingham or plaid. You might also consider adding cozy throw blankets for guests to warm up as the evening cools off.

Keep it light and fresh with white dinnerware, candlesticks and bright floral. The look is elegant and chic!

If you prefer a moodier look, try dark accents. We are currently coveting ceramic dinnerware sets in black or smoke gray. Pair with metallic flatware, a white accent and greenery…. and voila!

Allow Printed Pieces to be a Focal Point – add a personalized place card or menu at each seat. Practice your hand lettering and calligraph each guest’s name or if you prefer a quick and easy option – there are tons of great printable templates online! Emily created gorgeous templates for Give Thanks and Place Cards that you can download and print for guests on Thursday.

Shake Up your Color Palette – If you prefer something different than the typical orange, autumnal hues, mix it up with a pop of pink, or berry tones. We love mixing high and low design elements in the center of the table – if you are using tall candlesticks, pair with shorter floral arrangements to keep the design balanced.
Whether you forage greenery to create your own centerpiece or collect decor pieces from around the house and combine them in a new way – we hope you have some fun with design this Thanksgiving! We know the holiday will be beautiful! xoxo
It’s not very often that we coordinate our outfits, doll ourselves up and step out in front of the lens! But when we do there’s no one better than Tec to capture the silliness and realness of who we are and transform film to image showing us a vision that we don’t always see of ourselves.
Looking forward, 2017 marks our 10th Anniversary and it’s hard to believe all that this company has accomplished while dreaming of the dreams the future still holds. There are incredible opportunities that lay ahead, daunting mountains to climb and exciting changes that will carry us well into our next decade. Yet, as I look at these beautiful women whom uphold the values of grace, respect and excellence not only for our clients but for themselves, I’m humbly reminded while all the hard work, sweat and bruises are worth it… because they are.
Thank you to our dear friend and oh-so-talented artist Tec Petaja for joining us one night this August for our team photoshoot- thankfully Casa de Caldecott was showing off with some stunning lighting and our Chief Snuggle Officer couldn’t resist getting in on the action either!
xoxo, Lish
Without further adieu, meet the team!!

While Northern Michigan is the known for warm summers spent lakeside, there is something truly magical about this area in the Fall. As the temperatures cool and the leaves start to fall from the trees, the region boasts a new array of activities for visitors and locals to partake in…here are nine that we suggest adding to your to-do list!

Visit a Cider House – We love Tandem Ciders located just north of Suttons Bay on the Leelanau Peninsula. Their ciders are awesome (try the Smackintosh!) and we applaud their commitment to local growers and sustainability!
Take a trip to Gallagher’s. They have the best pumpkin donuts…need we say more?!
Grab a glass of wine (or two!) at Bonobo Winery on Old Mission Peninsula. The wine is delicious, the small plates curated by renowned chef Mario Batali are divine and the interior is a dream. Not to mention, the terrace overlooking the vineyard perfectly showcases the beautiful landscape of Northern Michigan.

Taste the Seasonal Fare – Our local restaurants are some of the best and we love tasting the dishes the chefs create in the fall. The pumpkin risotto at the Franklin and the butternut squash gnocchi at Amical are two dishes we are eager to try! You also can’t go wrong with classics like the Tomato Spinach Swiss soup at Poppycocks!
Cozy up to the bar at our favorite taproom! 7 Monks has a fantastic assortment of seasonal brews on tap. The perfect meeting place with friends on a fall evening. Cheers!
