It’s been another exciting week in the press for ADIM. Caroline and Brian’s southern chic wedding was featured on Carats & Cake! Today we are thrilled to share some additional details from this unforgettable celebration in Mullett Lake.
For more details on the event, please visit C&B’s gallery on the ADIM website. Don’t miss the other weekend’s events (bloodies and brunch and the cedar cotton cookout!) as well as their wedding trailer!
Thanks again to our talented team of vendors who made this day possible!
In you case you missed it, Missi & Brian’s lakeside wedding was featured on Martha Stewart Weddings last week! Today we wanted to give you a sneak peek behind the scenes of their wedding weekend. Scroll down for a look inside the ADIM set up process for this glamorous celebration! Many thanks again to our talented team of vendors who helped make this day possible!
This spectacular property was transformed into a one of a kind venue for Missi & Brian’s wedding day. The views were picture perfect!
The Event Theory team begins to construct the tent and the dining room begins to take shape. The first days of the build were wet and windy which always makes life interesting.
Next the adjoining cocktail tent is built. Guests could access this directly from the lawn after the ceremony.
Fun Fact: the tent structure was built over top of the family’s pool and surrounding patio.
A gorgeous view from the dining tent overlooking Reeds Lake in East Grand Rapids.
A view of our venue from the back!
Once the tent structures are built, the draping process begins. We love the pop of navy blue!
The truck is unloaded with decor, candles and lighting pieces- Matt, one of our foreman, loves hanging all the fixtures we have!
Behind the Scenes Shenanigans 🙂 Our bride and groom flamingos now travel with us to all of our events!
The chairs are moved in the tent (stacked and ready to be adorned with chair pads!), candles are unpacked and ready to be placed on tables, and the lighting equipment from Visionary Sound Productions is brought in for rehearsal.
The tables and chairs are placed in the reception tent and it is time for lighting rehearsal! We love this part of the process as it allows us to see how the tent will be lit in the evening. It is magical. It’s all about great lighting to set the mood. Meanwhile, dinner napkins are pressed and ready to be placed the following morning.
Here at ADIM, we love clustering gorgeous light fixtures for a dramatic effect! We ensured these beauties were perfectly lit for the celebration the following evening.
This was one gorgeous sunset before Missi & Brian’s big day! The sunsets over the lake were spectacular; we miss these sweet summer nights!
Missi and Brian’s wedding day is here! A sea of pink peonies and other gorgeous blooms were delivered by Dawn Owen Design, our amazing floral designer for this event!
The floral is placed and it is time for sound check with the incredible band, Northstar of Elan Artists and the team from On Stage Services. Here is a quick walk through tour!
After the floral is set on our banquet tables, it is time to fill in with votives and add the place settings.
Voila! The reception tent is ready for guests. A special moment for our team is when the couple and their families get to do a first look of the room and see their vision come to life!
The ceremony is underway and the reception tent is ready for reveal! We are so thankful to have had the opportunity to work with Missi and Brian and their wonderful families to create this magical celebration. What a way to kick off the 2016 event season!
Fall in Northern Michigan truly cannot be beat…have you seen these fall colors?! We love this time of year and cannot wait to partake in the halloween celebrations that are right around the corner. While we love classic halloween traditions and decor, we are currently inspired by this sophisticated Halloween soirée styled by L.A. based designer Jenni Kayne. The fresh color palette and organic touches are festive but not literal…perfect for a sophisticated, yet laid back celebration.
Kayne wanted to “achieve a feel that was all at once beautiful and a touch dark.”
A mix of grey, white and green pumpkins ran the length of the table. The pumpkins and gourds were accented with snowberries and green and purple kale. The color palette achieved with this design was stunning!
A burlap runner with grey stripes was used to set the table. Lighting accents like cast iron candleholders and black hurricanes were placed atop the runner to add soft lighting. From there, the floral and pumpkin accents filled in the center of the tablescape.
We love how the white pumpkins were carved out to create a vessel that housed the floral arrangements at each place setting.
Onyx plates from Heath Ceramics were beautifully paired with mismatched vintage flatware.
The simple place settings allowed the centerpieces and table runner to shine.
A delicious fall menu was of course the star of the show at this gathering!
If you don’t already follow Jenni’s blog Rip & Tan, we highly recommend adding it to your reading list. It is filled with great content on style, interiors, wellness and entertaining. Each post showcases the designers’ exquisite taste and talent (also evident in her gorgeous namesake collection of clothing and stunning new lifestyle boutique in Newport Beach’s Lido Marina Village!). However it’s Jenni Kayne’s knack for effortless entertaining that has us truly inspired! We love this halloween party for the kiddos as well as this autumnal outdoor gathering. Whether you are planning a festive halloween party or simply making a home cooked meal filled with fall flavors, we hope you are able to spend time with loved ones and take in the special moments of the season.
We are over the moon to have our beloved clients Missi and Brian’s wedding featured on Martha Stewart Weddings! What a dream it was creating this magical celebration for two of the most kind and loving families. Special thanks to our entire team of vendors who brought Missi and Brian’s vision to life! From the gorgeous photos captured by Liz Banfield, to the heavenly floral by Dawn Owen Designs, the delicious meal from Martha’s Catering and the picturesque lakeside venue created by Event Theory – every last detail came together beautifully.

Another Bridal Fashion Week has come to an end, and we couldn’t wait to round up some of our favorite gowns from the runways. From the bold bows at Oscar to the 3D floral seen at Marchesa, the fall 2017 collections were seriously stunning! Though it was hard to choose just nine, here are the dresses that had us swooning!
1. Marchesa Fall 2017 – Love the fresh floral used to embellish the statement jewelry featured with the collection! Watch as the designers chat about the Fall collection.
2. Reem Acra Fall 2017 – This dreamy collection continued telling the story of the designer’s Secret Garden.
3. Oscar de la Renta Fall 2017 – We love when brides choose dresses that make a statement from the back like this beauty! Yet again, the brand captures the effortlessly chic vibe all brides dream of.
4. Viktor & Rolf Fall 2017 – The couture designers made their bridal debut and it sure was stunning! Their attention to detail and craftsmanship shined in their collection of “sculptural yet surreal” gowns – like this dress featuring a dreamy tulle skirt!
5. Monique Lhuillier Fall 2017 – A dazzling collection to celebrate 20 years in the industry! With each season, Monique beautifully updates and modernizes her classic silhouettes.
6. Vera Wang Fall 2017 – This season the designer found inspiration in 17th Century Verona, Italy and wished to make a statement with “silhouette, architecture, and a bit of pomp and circumstance.”
7. Carolina Herrera Fall 2017 – with just seven looks presented for fall, this long sleeve lace gown was a knockout!
8. Temperley London Fall 2017 – Bohemian Brides will be in heaven as they peruse the latest offerings from Alice Temperley. The embroidered details are truly divine! Be sure to check out Look 2 in the collection if you love a pop of color!
9. Marchesa Fall 2017 – aannnd because the collection was just so lovely (and we couldn’t narrow it down to just one dress!) here is another beauty from Marchesa.
