What to Wear: Winter Weddings

There is something so chic about winter weddings! We love how the deeper color palettes contrast so beautifully with the crisp white of the falling snow. This season we are particularly loving deep red, aubergine accents, rich pattern and texture, and metallic accents. These elements paired with a magical winter setting are absolutely stunning. Now that the winter season and holiday parties are in full swing, here are a few of our favorite winter styles!

As a bride, you can never go wrong with Oscar de la Renta. We love the “Hope” gown from the Fall 2017 collection – a white sleeveless v neck silk mikado trumpet gown with satin bow detail. Because this dress is sleeveless we suggest purchasing a silk wrap or (faux) fur cover up…this will be especially useful for outdoor photos and departing the party at the end of the evening. You might also consider a gown that features a cape like the Oscar Hensley gown. Just look at the detail of the White and silver jewel neck trellis embroidered tulle hi-low cape! This style is incredibly chic and would photograph beautifully in a picturesque snowy landscape. A long sleeve lace gown is timeless and will never go out of style. This one is truly a stunner! Can you tell we adore this entire collection?!

In the winter months, we of course recommend having your wedding party wear long dresses. The Henrietta Dress from BHLDN would be stunning for the bridesmaids. The deep Oxblood color is perfect for the snowy season and would look divine beside the crisp white of your bridal gown. Plus the style is super flattering with the billowy sleeves and waist defining sash.

In terms of accessories (for both the bride and bridesmaids!) we adore metallic accents. Metallic pumps embellished with a crystal brooch, a sparkly statement necklace, or crystal drop earrings will add interest to your look and allow your style to shine.

The gentleman will look incredibly dapper in a slim fit suit with great fabric and expert tailoring. This Burberry Jacket in a silk woven Jacquard would be a great option paired with a classic white shirt and a classic slim tie. Don’t forget comfortable (and stylish!) dress shoes, cool cuff links and a great boutonniere with a pop of red floral or greenery.

Instead of the standard white dress for your flower girl, we love this cap sleeved striped design embellished with ruby red roses at the waist! Pair with tights, scalloped flats and a wintery floral crown, and she will truly feel special as she walks down the aisle. If you are taking outdoor photos, help the girls stay warm with an adorable furry stole or wrap!

Last but most certainly not least, if you are searching for something to wear for a dear friend or family members wedding, we recommend a dress with an interesting pattern like this wintery floral design. This dress from Lela Rose would be fabulous! (Lela offers some of the best styles for special occasions). If you are looking for a floor length gown or long sleeve option, we love this and this. Don’t forget a great clutch to hold all of your essentials throughout the evening.
