It was the nostalgia of summers spent along the crystal clear waters of North Lake Leelanau that brought Rian and Jarred back to Leland, Michigan for their September wedding. Nestled amongst the trees, the tented wedding took place on the same grounds that the bride and many guests used to enjoy as children. Overcast skies did anything but cloud the beauty and magic that filled the late summer evening affair.
The classic color combination of red and black was given a modern update with rich shades of mahogany, amber, and gold. Escort cards uniquely displayed on a shoji screen took guests to their tables which were covered in red floral linens. Special touches included the incorporation of the groom’s late mother’s favorite flower and local fare and cheeses from the bride’s family’s creamery. Following the cutting of the cake and the bride and groom’s first dance, guests spun around the dance floor to the tunes of a local funk band.
